Aluminum corner edge profile Novolistel 3 Inox

General characteristics

  • a = 10 mm
  • h = 8, 10, 12 mm

Applications

Very versatile corner profile that can be placed as: decorative listello, edge protector, pavement separator, step, finish (worktops, mid-height ...)

Technical characteristics and tests

  • Alloy: 6063 (L-3441 / 38-337)
  • Fire resistance: M0 (UNE 23-727-90)
  • Abrasion resistance *: Very good
  • Light fastness *: Excellent
  • Appearance and color *: EN 12373-1

Materials

Butt plate made by extrusion of aluminum. Anodized finishes improve through process its corrosion resistance, mechanical resistance and appearance. Anodizing has the Qualanod quality seal, which guarantees the quality of the process and the resulting profiles. This seal regulates appearance and color tests, thickness measurements, control of sealing and impregnation, resistance to abrasion, light fastness, acetic salt chamber and immersion in nitric acid. The lacquered finishes have a homogeneous and high quality surface. The lacquer has the Qualicoat quality seal, which guarantees the quality of the process and of the final products. The natural finish does not have any surface treatment, so it has less resistance to corrosion and scratching. Installation is not recommended without the application of additional protection. Aluminum is a material with excellent chemical and physical-mechanical properties. It is light, tough, ductile, malleable and highly durable.

The complementary pieces of Novolistel Aluminum are made of aluminum, only for 10/12 mm profiles in matt silver, or in Zamak. Zamak is a non-ferrous Zinc alloy with Aluminum, Magnesium and Copper (UNE EN 1774). It is tenacious, it has high hardness, great mechanical resistance and excellent plastic deformability.

Placement

As a decorative profile

  1. Spread abundant bonding material on the surface to be tiled and smooth to the approximate height where you are going to place the listel.
  2. Lay the tiles at the ends of the next row aligning them with the previous ones. Then position the aligned profile by embedding the fixing wing between the wall and the tiles, making sure to press so that the gripping material passes through the fixing wing dies.
  3. Lay the remaining tiles gently pressing for optimal adhesion.
  4. Continue tiling the wall below the profile to the desired height.
  5. Finally, wipe off any excess material and allow to dry.

As i sing

  1. Clad one of the walls until you reach the joining edge. Spread abundant gripping material on the surface where the profile will be placed.
  2. Position the profile aligned with the wall edge and the cladding and press so that the bonding material passes through the fixing wing dies.
  3. Place the tiles on the fixing wing and press for optimal adhesion.
  4. Continue with the plating.
  5. Finally, clean the excess material, remove the protective film if applicable and let dry.

As a pavement separator

  1. Spread abundant gripping material on the surface where you are going to install the flooring.
  2. Then place the profile and press it so that the gripping material passes through the fixing wing dies.
  3. Place a tile on the profile fixing wing and press for optimal contact with the bonding material.
  4. Repeat the operation placing tiles on both sides of the profile until the installation is complete.
  5. Finally clean the excess material, remove the protective film and allow to dry.

As a step or counter top

  1. Spread plenty of grip material on the riser surface.
  2. Place the tile on the riser and press for optimal adherence.
  3. Next, spread plenty of gripping material on the tread tread and align the profile on the tread vertex so that it rests on the riser (do not allow overhang, the lever effect could tear off the tread and tiling).
  4. Press for the gripping material to pass through the fixation wing dies.
  5. Place the tile on the tread of the step, aligning it with the profile and ensuring optimum adhesion6. Finally, clean the excess material, remove the protective film if applicable and let dry.

Cleaning and maintenance

Cleaning the material immediately after installation is essential to prevent the remains of mortar, cement or iron particles from scouring pads or tools from causing corrosion pitting.

For interior applications, you can use dishwashing liquid, detergent, or liquid soap to remove dirt and possible fingerprints that have been marked. For high gloss finishes you can use a glass cleaner. There are specific stainless steel cleaners on the market that clean it and reduce the appearance of possible stains. Whenever you clean the stainless steel, be sure to rinse it well and dry it completely to avoid tarnishing.

Steel wool or similar products are not recommended, as they can scratch the surface and create corrosion pitting. Take special care in the use of materials containing chlorides, as they are contraindicated since they cause oxidation. Hydrochloric acid or iron products in prolonged contact are also not recommended. Never use ordinary steel cleaners for stainless steel.
