Schlüter-VINPRO-STEP and Schlüter-VINPRO-STEP-R are special stair edge profiles made of anodized aluminum that offer maximum protection and a visually appealing design for the edges of resilient flooring (e.g., LVT). The profiles provide reliable edge protection for resilient flooring and a high degree of safety thanks to the clear visibility of the stair edge.

The VINPRO-STEP stair profile has a 7 mm long vertical flange and a 6 mm or 10 mm wide horizontal flange to cover adjacent flooring. The 6 mm wide horizontal flange also features a special anti-slip profile.
The VINPRO-STEP-R stair nosing profile has a 38 mm vertical flange and a 10 mm horizontal flange to cover adjacent surfaces, and also features a rounded edge profile.
Material
Schlüter-VINPRO-STEP is available in the following finishes:
- ACGB = Brushed chrome anodized aluminum
- ATGB = Brushed titanium anodized aluminum (color variations may occur compared to other Schlüter profiles with the ATGB finish)
- ABGB = Brushed antique bronze anodized aluminum
Material properties and applications
In certain cases, the suitability of the material type should be checked based on the expected chemical exposure or mechanical loads.
These are some general considerations to keep in mind.
Anodized aluminum: Aluminum has an anodized surface that can be damaged by aggressive substances or abrasive loads. Damage to the anodized finish can only be repaired by repainting.
Installation
Screw Fixing
- VINPRO-STEP should be selected according to the thickness of the flooring.
- Where the flooring needs to be defined, transfer the drilling positions to the floor and drill holes for 5 mm diameter wall plugs.
- The profile should be fixed to the step with 3.5 mm diameter countersunk screws.
- Always follow the manufacturer's instructions when installing the flooring.
Adhesive Fixing
- VINPRO-STEP should be selected according to the thickness of the flooring.
- In areas where the flooring needs to be defined, the profile should be installed with Schlüte-KERDI-FIX adhesive or an equivalent material. This fixing method is particularly suitable when the profile cannot be screwed to the floor.
- Always follow the manufacturer's instructions when installing the flooring.
Note: The substrate must be stable and free of contaminants.
Maintenance and Care
Schlüter-VINPRO-STEP requires no special maintenance or care. Delicate surfaces should not be treated with abrasive cleaning products.
Damage to the anodized finish can only be repaired by repainting. Cleaning products must not contain hydrochloric or hydrofluoric acid.
