Cove-shaped aluminium profiles for internal wall corners, kitchen worktops, or surfaces with ceramic coverings. Schlüter DILEX-AHK/- AHKA profiles are available in a variety of anodised finishes.

In addition, DILEX-AHK is available with a textured coating in various colours. The integrated joint spacer defines a joint channel with the tile.

The profiles, which are available in a wide range of finishes, allow for decorative design and create interesting optical contrasts. In addition to an appealing look, the profiles allow for easy and thorough cleaning of internal corners.

DILEX-AHK/ -AHKA is easily combined with other Schlüter profiles to create a consistent decorative surface appearance. This includes the finishing profiles Schlüter RONDEC, SchlüterDESIGNLINE borders and Schlüter RONDEC-STEP finishing profiles for work surfaces. Matching prefabricated parts are available to create elegant connections to the profiles at internal and external corners.

Schlüter DILEX-AHK is designed to attach to tile coverings on both sides, while Schlüter DILEX-AHKA can be connected to one side of existing coverings.

DILEX-AHK/-AHKA are made of aluminium with different finishes.

Schlüter DILEX-AHK:

  • AE = Anodised aluminium
  • ACB = Polished chrome anod. aluminium
  • ACGB = Brushed chrome anod. Aluminium
  • TS = Aluminium, textured coating

Material properties and areas of application:

The suitability of Schlüter DILEX-AHK/- AHKA must be verified based on the anticipated chemical stresses. Cementitious materials, in conjunction with moisture, become alkaline. Since aluminium is sensitive to alkaline substances, exposure to the alkali (depending on the concentration and duration of exposure) may result in corrosion (aluminium hydroxide formation). For this reason, remove mortar or grouting material immediately from all visible areas and do not cover freshly installed coverings with foil.

Finishes that have been coated with an anodised layer will not show any further changes during normal use. They should be protected against abrasion.

Schlüter DILEX-AHK-TS (aluminium with textured coating) is a finish with a natural character.

The coating is colour-stable, as well as UVand weather-resistant. Visible edges should also be protected against abrasion.

The profiles must be solidly embedded in the tile setting material to prevent alkaline water from accumulating in small cavities.

  1. Select Schlüter DILEX-AHK/-AHKA according to the tile thickness.
  2. Apply thin bed adhesive to areas where the perforated anchoring leg will be placed, using a notched trowel.
  3. Press the perforated anchoring leg of Schlüter DILEX-AHK/-AHKA securely into the setting material and align the profile.
  4. Trowel additional setting material over the perforated anchoring leg to ensure full coverage.
  5. Solidly embed the tiles and align flush with the top of the profile. The tiles must be fully embedded in the area of the profile.
  6. The tile is set abutting the lateral joint spacer, which creates an evenly spaced joint of approx. 1.5 mm. Completely fill the space between the tile and the profile with grout. Note: where movement is expected at internal corners, leave a sufficiently wide joint between the tile and the profile and fill with elastomeric sealant.
  7. Use materials and tools that will not scratch or cause other damage to sensitive surfaces. Grout and tile adhesive should be removed immediately.
  8. Matching preformed internal and external corner pieces are available.
  9. Note: Due to the asymmetrical design of Schlüter DILEX-AHKA, the use of internal and external corners is feasible only with the installation configuration shown here.

The visible surfaces of DILEX-AHK/- AHKA require no special maintenance. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents on sensitive surfaces. Damage to the anodised surfaces can be restored with paint.
