Joint cover profile designed for installation in structural joints. It is manufactured from 6063 aluminum alloy with an EPDM rubber inner core that facilitates the absorption of stress and deformation. It withstands light traffic and has anti-slip properties due to the grooves on its visible surface. It is supplied pre-assembled and is very easy to install. Available in natural and matte silver.

Applications

The CTE (Spanish Building Code) in its DB-SAE (Actions on Buildings) section establishes that in concrete or steel buildings, expansion joints must be installed so that no continuous element exceeds 40 meters in length.
Novojunta Pro Decor is a structural joint solution consisting of an aluminum frame and a central body of microcellular EPDM rubber. This profile absorbs the stresses and deformations produced in building elements, preventing cracks and other structural issues. It can be installed vertically and horizontally in both flooring and wall coverings. The anodized finish, certified by Qualanod, guarantees its suitability for both exterior and interior applications, ensuring high resistance and durability.
Novojunta Pro Decor is an ideal profile for installation in shopping centers, parking garages, airports, and all types of public and private buildings. Its grooved surface provides anti-slip properties for installation on pavements, and its size allows it to be installed as a cover strip in joint widths from 12.6 mm to 30 mm.
Materials
Profile manufactured by aluminum extrusion. The matte silver finish has been anodized, a process that primarily improves its corrosion resistance, mechanical strength, and appearance. The anodizing process bears the Qualanod quality seal, guaranteeing the quality of the process and the resulting profiles. This seal regulates tests for appearance and color, thickness measurements, sealing and impregnation control, abrasion resistance, lightfastness, acetic acid salt spray, and nitric acid immersion.
Aluminum is a material with excellent chemical and physical-mechanical properties. It is lightweight, tough, ductile, malleable, and highly durable. Its corrosion and fire resistance are very good.
Load Capacity
Novojunta Pro Decor supports light to medium loads, including pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Withstands vehicle traffic with pneumatic tires up to 30 kN (DIN 1072).
Installation
The Novojunta Pro Decor model is installed after the flooring or wall covering has been installed. This profile is supplied pre-assembled and is easy to install.
a) For joint widths of 12.6 mm.
- Apply silicone or mastic to the two serrated outer edges of the Novojunta Pro Decor body. R03.002_21/08/14
- Insert the Novojunta Pro Decor into the joint gap, ensuring good contact for a stronger bond.
- Clean off any excess material, remove the protective film, and allow to dry.
b) For joint widths up to 30 mm.
- Apply silicone or mastic to one of the serrated outer edges of the Novojunta Pro Decor body.
- Insert the Novojunta Pro Decor into the joint gap and firmly adhere it to one side.
- Clean off any remaining material, remove the protective film, and allow to dry.
c) To ensure the Novojunta Pro Decor is securely fixed, you can use mechanical fasteners. Install Fischer SX 6x30 plugs or similar with countersunk screws every 40 cm on one side only to allow free movement of the profile. This option is especially recommended for installing the profile on facades.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Clean periodically with a soft cloth. If using a neutral cleaning liquid, rinse with cold water and dry to remove excess moisture. Stubborn dirt can be removed with suitable, mildly abrasive cleaning agents. If applying a preservative, in addition to leaving a thin water-repellent layer, ensure it does not yellow, attract dust or dirt, or have a yellowing effect.
