Natural aluminum joint cover designed to cover joints up to 250 mm wide (depending on the model). It is an ideal profile for high-traffic areas such as hospitals or shopping centers and for covering large joints.

Applications
Buildings and structural elements are subject to deformations and geometric variations. The installation of expansion joints helps to reduce the effects these variations have on the building as a whole, preventing the development of structural problems.
The CTE (Spanish Building Code) in its DB-SAE (Actions on Buildings) establishes that in concrete or steel buildings, expansion joints must be installed so that there are no continuous elements longer than 40 m.

Materials
Novotapajunta NCJE is a profile manufactured by aluminum extrusion.
Aluminum is a material with excellent chemical and physical-mechanical properties. It is lightweight, tough, ductile, malleable, and highly durable. Its resistance to corrosion and fire is very good.
Traffic Load Capacity
Novotapajuntas NCJE is designed to support light loads, including pedestrian traffic as well as the passage of carts and vehicles with a medium pneumatic tire weight (DIN 1072) up to 35 kN.
For vehicle traffic, each model has a specified ideal joint width.
Installation
Novotapajuntas NCJE is easily installed once the paving or cladding is complete. Due to its characteristics, it is ideal for installation in new construction or renovation and remodeling projects. The profile is supplied with countersunk holes on one side, prepared for fixing screws (not supplied).
- Clean the surface where you will install the Novotapajuntas NCJE and ensure the profile is in good condition and free of dirt.
- Place the trim over the joint and mark the locations for the fixings.
- Remove the profile and drill the holes where you previously marked.
- Reinstall the profile and secure the fixings.
- Clean up any excess material if necessary.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Clean periodically with a soft cloth. If using a neutral cleaning liquid, rinse with cold water and dry to remove excess moisture. Stubborn dirt can be removed with suitable, mildly abrasive cleaning agents.
The use of steel wool, abrasive products or paint strippers, as well as strong acids (hydrochloric and perchloric), strong bases (caustic soda or ammonia), or carbonate solutions is not recommended. Citric acid should also not be used, as it dissolves the protective oxide layer on the aluminum surface.
Waxes, petroleum jelly, lanolin, or similar substances are unsuitable. Solvents containing haloalkanes (hydrofluoroethers or chlorinated solvents) and setting accelerators containing chlorides should be avoided (use chloride-free accelerators).
